NEW HOURS BEING WORKED
STATE COAL MINE AT KAMO (P.A.) Whangarei, April 5. The State coal mine at Kamo is now on a seven-hour day, 35-hour week basis for' underground workers. The new hours came into operation for the first time todav. The morning shift came up at 2.30 this afternoon instead of 3.30. The mine now employs about 150 men underground, the number having increased considerably since the State took over control some months ago.
