REVIEW OF BUSY SEASON Nearly 170 Matches Played In Town Acute Shortage Of White Jerseys During the Rugby season referees had been provided for 168 games in Tauranga and for four matches in outside centres, by the Tauranga Rugby Referees’ Association, said the retiring president (Mr O. H. Slow) when reviewing the year’s activities, at the annual meeting on Thursday evening. . These included 153 games held under the jurisdiction of the Tauranga Rugby Sub-Union, six games in the Primary Schools’ annual tournament, and seven week-day College, matches. The Tauranga referees had again been represented on the Bay of Plenty Association by Mr C. Burt, who had been reappointed as president, Mr Slow added.
