DISAPPEARANCE OF YOUNG MAN
ALL EFFORTS TO TRACE HIM UNSUCCESSFUL (P.A.) Wairoa, April 2. Police are investigating the disappearance of a young man, Rowland Phillips, aged 20, who was last seen at his parents’ residence near Erasertown on Wednesday night. Phillips is a son of Mr and Mrs Len Phillips. Apparently he left home wearing his working clothes and an oilskin coat but it ’is not known if he wore a hat. On Wednesday night he put four gallons of petrol in his car but the car was not taken out. Phillips, who was nearing the completion of his apprenticeship, sat for an examination as an electrician a fortnight ago. The result appeared to be worrying him. All efforts to trace him have not been successful.
