NINE MILLIONS SAVED
ABOLITION OF PETROL RATION FOOD MORE IMPORTANT THAN "MOTORING London, Jan.' 15. The abolition of the basic petrol ration in Britain has so far resulted in a saving which on the year's basis works out at over £9,000,000 worth of dollars. This was stated today by Sir Stafford Cripps who added that for the present it was better to go without pleasure motoring than to have less food.
They were now living on their reserves and he was sure that this sacrifice would be borne with the fortitude as the many others now being made by the British people.
