LEARNERS' POOL AT OTUMOETAI
PERMISSION TO BUILD SOUGHT
Question Of Filling
Bath
Tauranga Borough Council
Approached
Advice that the Oturnoetai School Committee had applied for permission to build a learners' swimming bath at the Oturnoetai School, and an inquiry as to whether water would be available to fill the bath every week-end during the summer months, was received from the committee at the monthly meeting of the Tauranga Borough Council. The committee pointed out that the size of the bath would be 30 feet bv 15 feet and the average depth would be 2ft Gin. It was thought that a three-quarter inch feed from the . mains would be necessary to fill the bath in a reasonable time, preferably at night. The water v/ould be controlled by a ball cock and. valve. The committee stated that it would appreciate early consideration by the council as it was anxious to proceed with the project as soon as the necessary permit was granted. Cr W A. Carsweil remarked that about 4800 gallons of water v/ould be required. , The council decided to reter tne committee's letter to the Borough Engineer for his comment.
