FAITH IN MAORI YOUTH
The wish was expressed by Mr E. H. Nepia, "when thanking Sir Apirana Ngata for an address, that the veteran Maori leader should have an extension of another .50 years of life. "I have no* desire to live to such an age," replied Sir Apirana. "Old trees should not stand too long. They should not prevent the sunlight from reaching the young trees. Rather must they permit the latter to' develop." Personally, he had the greatest faith in Maori youth, he added.
