London, July 31
The Minister of Supply, Mr John Wilmot, announced today that the export of British aircraft and equipment is expected to bring in £20,000.000 this year.
British planes, he stated, were in demand because usually buyers liked them best. Britain's medium and short-range planes were equally, if not better than those of the rest of the world. The improvements to the Tudor 1, he said, would make it a highly satisfactory aircraft, and he saw no reason why it should not put up a very good performance on the North Atlantic run.
