Debating Contest An interesting debating contest was held at Paengaroa recently when in the second round of the Western Bay of Plenty Young Farmers’ Clubs’ inter-club debates, the senior teams of Paengaroa and Welcome (Bay met. The subject was “That tire Y.F.C. Movement is devoting too much of its time to Social and Sporting Activities.” Paengaroa took the affirmative and Welcome Bay the negative. The judge was Mr Cordon Spratt. the chairman Mr E. Pinker, and the timekeeper Mr A. G. Talbot. The teams were evenly matched and the result was a win for Paengaroa with 290 points to 286.
