General situation. The intense anti-cyclone is still centred south of the Chatham Islands and the shallow depression north of New Zealand continues to lose intensity. The following forecast applies up to midnight to-night: Fresh to strong north-easterly to easterly winds decreasing gradually. Weather cloudy and overcast with further showers in some parts. Conditions improving slowly. Temperatures moderate.
