TE PUNA NOTES
SOCIAL FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
ENJOYABLE FUNCTION

The young people of Te Puna held a, social in the Te Puna Hall last Friday evening # for the purpose of teaching the young people of the district, to dance. All those in the district under the age of 20 years, and a few of. their ffiends from Tauranga and the outlying districts, were invited. The evening proved a great success. During supper a mystery parcel was passed around the ball and ended at Mr and Mrs Thomas who were in charge of the evening.
Prizes were won as follows; Travel waltz, Trevor Norris and Lesley Taylor; Monte Carlo, Trevor Norris and Lesley Taylor; spot waltz, Jock Elvin and Lorna Daniels: article waltz, Care Daniels and Betty Storer; musical boys, Jim Youngman and Lorna Daniels. At the close of the evening Stewart King, the master of ceremonies, thanked Mr Faulkner, the musician, and Mr and Mrs Thomas for the success of the evening. He then called for three cheers for them which were given heartily. The singing of the National Anthem brought the evening to a close.
