BRITAIN TO SEEK DELAY
THE COMING PEACE CONFERENCE
London, April 29
Tile British Foreign Minister, Mr Bovin, will'return to Paris to-day to demand, with powerful support from the Dominion Governments, that the Peace Conference shall be called toward the end of May or early in June, instead of on May 1 as originally intended, says the Daily Herald’s political correspondent. Mr Bevin was assured of British Commonwealth support at the meeting yesterday cf Dominion Ministers at Downing Street.
Mr Bevin prevailed over an uncompromising debating adversary in M. Molotov at the Foreign Ministers’ Conference when he insisted that the conference should be adjourned ior a day so that he might fly to London to cpnsult the'Dominions’ representatives, says the Associated Press Paris correspondent. M. Molotov objected, saying he had come a long way and wished to get on with the conference, but, when, M. supported Mr Bevin, M. Molotov threw up his hands and declared in English, “I surrender.”
