MR NASH’S BUDGET
Sir, —There is many a true .word spoken in jest. , When Mr Nash stated that his next budget would win the coming election he may not have been trying to be humorous. It is difficult to believe that we have in New Zealand reached a standard of political morality where the finances of the country are regulated by those in power not according to the economic needs of the community but purely for the winning of votes. We have already seen our Maori race demoralised and degraded by the same methods and it was obvious to any thinking person that sooner or later the same evil thing woul be extended to other sections of the community.—l am, etc.,
“JOHN CITIZEN.”
