By the death of Mrs Mary-Humph; rey s on January 1, Tauranga.... ,Mq one of its oldest and most rejected residents. Mrs Humphreys,was born in London 77 years ago. She ca»e to New Zealand as a young W\ p' siding in Auckland, where she married the late Thomas reys, a well-known barrister and P citor, who practised in various P. art of the Auckland province. He eventually settled in Tauranga about» years ago and died about 50 y# ago. • " '■■/

She took an active part In K social activities in Tauranga and ff a keen supporter of the Church England:, the Mission to Seamed a " all patriotic affairs during the 1 wars. She was also one of tha ear - supporters of the Barnard h^f'^ Mrs Humphreys was well' throughout New Zealand 'for artistic work and needlework. s , will be missed by a large circle./.', friends in Taunauga and elsewhe| e ;
