OMOKOROA NOTES
PTE. C. BARNETT FAREWELLED (Prom Our Correspondent) A very enjoyable evening was spent recently when the residents of the Omokoroa district gathered to bid farewell to Pte. Colin Barnett. Mr J. Parsons supplied the music and Mr 0. Steward acted as master of ceremonies. After supper. Mr Faulkner spoke a few words, and presented Pte. Barne.tt with a gift. The guest of honour suitably replied. Winners of the Monte Carlo were Mr A. Barnett and Mrs J. Lauder, Mr H. Boy.es and Miss M. Gardner, while Mr and Mrs E. Adams were the winners of the spot waltz. The evening was brought to a close with the playing of the National Anthem. PERSONAL Mr and Mrs Land, of Hamilton, are at present the guests of their .daughter, Mrs Hitchcock. Mr and Mrs McDonald are the guests of Mr and Mrs F. Dalgity. Friends of Mr A. King will be pleased to hear that he is out of hospital and progressing favourably.
