School Property Inspected On Saturday afternoon, the Tauranga School Committee inspected all the school buildings as well as the new site at Hillsdene and the school farm and the reserve at the north end of the town. The chairman and members (Who were all in attendance) were accompanied by the Headmaster on their tour. As a result, numerous matters were noted for the early attention of the committee. The party was entertained at afternoon tea by Mrs Barnard. An Excellent Arrangement The arrangement made to sound the fire siren at 1 o'clock yesterday to signify that the citizens' Anzac Day service would be held in the Town Hall instead of on the Domain proved to be an excellent one. Many people were in doubt as to where the service would be held because of the nature of the weather, but the sounding of the alarm removed these doubts and the Town Hall was packed for the service. Motor Trucks Available A limited number of new motor trucks are now available, through the Ministry of Supply, to meet requirements of essential operators. The vehicles are three-ton shortwheel base and three and four-ton long-wheel base, and separate applications in respect of each new truck required is necessary, the prescribed forms being obtainable from dealers and Transport Licensing Authorities.
