THE KHARKOV TRIAL
GERMAN WAR CRIMINALS Official Statement From Berlin Allegations Against Allied Prisoners London,- Dec. 22. The Germans to-day put out an official statement on the recent trial of war criminals in Kharkov which ended in the execution of three Germans and a Russian who had helped them. The statement said that this was the sort of thing the Germans expected of what it called "Bolshevik brutality,” but if the trial was carried out in accordance with the principles agreed on by President Roosevelt, Marshal Stalin and Mr Churchill, then, the statement continues, it acquired a different aspect. In this case the German military court, would, to quote the statement, “shortly have to deal with British and American prisoners who have been charged with serious breaches of international law but who have not yet faced trial.”
