Porter, the board's aichitect, submitted his report for the month. The matron, Miss Jenkins, in her report, acknowledged the following donations to the hospital: Flowers Mesdames Caraway, Coveil, Clench, and Mason, the Lyceum Club and Salvation Army; magazines, the Rev. O. S. O. Gibson and Major Scantlebury; children’s toys, Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union. A letter of thanks for attention by the nursing staff while an inmate of the hospital was received from Mrs C. Moore, of Cliff Road. Miss Compton, of Dannevirke, was appointed sister in charge of the maternity ward which has been completed. It was decided that a gale be placed at the entrance of the nurses’ home instead of a cattle stop. The usual allowances for Christmas cheer were agreed upon by the board, Tauranga Hospital £2 2/-, Te Puke, £2 2/-, Katikati, £ll/-.
