XXUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that as provided by “The Counties Act, 1920,” Sections 9 to 16 inclusive, “The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926” and all other Acts (if any) thereby enabling and subject to the consent of the Governor-General-iu-Council being obtained under the provisions of the “Finances Act, 1920,” the Tauranga County Council proposed to borrow a Special Loan to be named the County Plant Loan, 1943, particulars as follows: (a) The Loan is for the purpose of purchasing essential reading plant for use in the County and for the attendant accommodation for housing same. (b) The sum proposed to be borrowed is Fifteen Thousand Pounds ( £ 15,000). (c) The proposed security and provision for repayment of the loan will be a Special Rate of seven-twelfths of one penny (7/12d.) in the pound on the unimproved rateable value of all rateable property within the County of Tauranga; the term of the Loan will be Seven years; The rate of interest will not be more than 3J per centum per annum; and the Loan or any part thereof will be repaid by equal half-yearly instalments extending over the term provided therein. (d) It is not proposed to pay the cost of raising the Loan and no portion of interest or repayment of instalment shall be paid out of the Loan, And PUBLIC NOTICE is also given as provided by Section 11 of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926” that a Poll of the Ratepayers of the County of Tauranga will be held on the above proposal on Wednesday, the 19th. day of January, 1944, and that the Polling Booths will be situate at the Council Chambers, Tauranga; The Old Post Office, Athenree; the Picture Theatre, Katikati; The Presbyterian Hall.
