SCHOOL CONCERT
(From Our Own Correspondent) The annual school concert was held at the hall on Thursday evening. There was a large crowd’ and much credit is due to the teachers and the children and other helpers for their fine effort. The following were the items: National Anthem; playette; “Red Riding Hood.” Characters: “Wolf” B. Humphries, “Red Riding Hood” Rebecca Trau, woodsmen, T. McGee and R. Lockhead; “Granny” K. Tu. Dance by group “Forest Fire,” playette, “Christmas Toys” (Cath Tu, W. Death, L. Murray and C. Ormsby); mystery quintette, Melton Hall, Cargan Borell, W. Borell, M. Bidois and J. Borell: sketch “Girl and the Gloves” (J. Borell, E. Youngman, R. Bidois and E. Ormsby); songs by primers; playette “Four Sisters:” (Leslie Taylor, E. Youngman, N. Turner and R. Bidois); choral speaking by seniors; first aid demonstration with humorous touch, seniors; recitation, F. Humphries, J. Faulkner and Tom McGee; drill, seniors; choir in bracket of songs; musical play, “Old Friends with New Faces,” juniors; an original sketch, “Human Lord,” seniors; dance (Irish jig) Diana King; choral speaking “Song of the Wind;” choir in short group of songs. At a suitable interval Mr Schroff, chairman of the School Committee, thanked everyone for their attendance and paid tribute to the staff and helpers who had worked to make the evening such a success. Mr Schroff then called upon Mrs Honor to accept a bouquet from the school children for playing the music. Dancing continued, Mr Heard being master of ceremonies.
