General D. D. Eisenhower, Com-mander-in-Chief of the Allied Forces in the Mediterranean, is likely to become supreme Allied commander in the European theatre, says the New York Times correspondent, Hanson Baldwin. He adds that General C. G. Marshal], Chief of Staff of the United States Army, will probably remain in Washington as Chief of Staff.
The reason for the change in plans is not known, says Mr Baldwin, but it was probably made before the
