Old Issues of The Times A resident of Tauranga lias several old publications of the Bay of Plenty Times, the earliest of which was printed on February 25, 1874. Improvement to Strand Gardens Work has been started on trimming the hedge fronting the Strand Gardens. This is a decided improvement as the hedge in its old state obscured the view of the harbour from the Strand. » Large Cactus Mr C. G. Laseoiby, of Edgcumbe Road, has in bloom a hyliocereus trianglarus plant—a form of cactus. The plant, which is housed in a glass house, covers a large area and is about 12 feet high. The flowers are white and have a diameter of about 16 inches. ', One Pound Peach A remarkable sample of the Million Dollar Peach is on view at the Times office, and was sent to the office for Mr W. H. Gifford with, best regards from the grower, Mr C. Hansen. The peach turns the scale at 16ozs. and is perfect in colour and formation. It was from a ten-year-old tree.
