USE OF AUSTRALIAN MILITIA
STORMY DEBATE
London, Feb. 4
In the Australian House of Representatives the debate was resumed on the second reading of the Militia Bill. Stormy passages have been experienced during the reading of this bill, which restricts the use of the militia to certain areas in the Southwest Pacific.
A surprise was caused when Mr Fadclen (Opposition), said that he would support the bill. An Independent member, Mr Coles, then threw a bombshell by anouncing that he would move that the bill be withdrawn and replaced by one providing for the service of the militia anywhere in the world.
