RETURN OF N.Z. DIVISION
GOVERNMENT ATTITUDE
(P.A.)
Christchurch, Feb. 3
“The Government and ' the Wai Cabinet will do all they possibly can to replace the lads who have been there for three years,”, said the Prime Minister at the Civic Theatre to-night when he was discussing the controversy on whether' or not the New Zealand Division in the Middle East should be returned. “We will try to get them back as far as it is possible.” --
The Democratic Labour people were saying the Division should be returned and sent out to New Zealand’s frontiers, which were the jungle of Guadalcanar, Fiji and New Caledonia and the thin line which was holding back our enemies, said Mr Fraser. It was not a question of bandying about our hoys at the front as political assets.
