FRESH EFFORT

APPEAL BY CRIPPS

British Workers

Glorious Victory in Egypt

London. Nov, 5

Sir Stafford Cripps, speaking to the workers in a London factory, called on British workers on the industrial front for a fresh effort. He said that the glorious victory for the British armies in Egypt would be followed by other offensives elsewhere. "We are determined," said Sir Stafford, "to do our utmost to hasten victory. But we do not intend to throw away the prospects of victory by acting too soon." The factory in which Sir Stafford Cripps was speaking was engaged on work for the Middle East forces and for Malta, and was staffed by 80 per cent, of women workers. Malta. continued Sir Stafford Cripps, had defeated the heaviest attacks which the Axis could make on the island. In three weeks 13S enemy planes had been destroyed.
