CARMICHAEL —SUTTON

A wedding of considerable interest to Tauranga. was celebrated in Hol> Trinity Church recently, when Phyllis Annie, only daughter of Mr and Mis P. J. Sutton of McLean Street. Tail ranga. was married to Ciril Goidon. youngest son of Mr and Mrs A. V . Carmichael, of Bethlehem. Tauranga. The Rev O. S. 0 Gibson per formed the ceremony, and Dir G. Allen provided the wedding music. The church was tastefully decorated with arum lilies and white stock.

The bride who was given away by her father, looked charming in a princess style gown of white embossed crepe de chine, with satin appliques on the corsage. Her halo of tulle and orange blossom, was held in place with a veil of brussel’s net and lace edging The bouquet consisted of white roses, stock and lilac. The two bridesmaids, Misses Frances Gauntlett of Auckland, and Audrey Bowles, of Tauranga. wore frocks of eau-de-nil green ripple ninon, with matching green velvet coatees, velvet Juliet caps and gold mittens. They carried bouquets of daffodils.

The bridegroomwas attended by Mr C. Gamman as best man and Mr S. Gamman acted as groomsman.

The reception was held in the Parish Hall, which had been beautifully decorated with calendulas, daffodils and Iceland poppies. The bride’s mother received the guests wearing a black silk coat over black floral taffeta, with black accessories and a shoulder spray of dusky pink roses. She was assisted by the bridegroom’s mother who wore a blue frock with a black silk coat and a shoulder spray of red roses. The happy couple left later for New Plymouth, the bride wearing a cobalt blue frock with honey gold hat and, coat and chocolate brown accessories. Mr and Mrs Carmichael have made their home at Bethlehem, Tauranga.
