The monthly meeting of the Baj tist Women’s Missionary Union k held in the Baptist Church on Thun day afternoon. There was a la ; attendance and apologies were r* ceived from Mesdames Franks, In land, Johanson, Rankin and Mi; Parry. Mrs Bryan presided and co: ducted devotions, after which it roll call was responded to by a fa: ourite text.
An interesting feature of the met ing was the fact that October 1942, marked the 150th Annivew of the founding of the Pioneer Mi sionary Society of modern time when Dr. William Carey comment' his work under the Baptist Mis® ary Society.
It was in the home of Mrs Ite; Wallis of Kettering Baptist Cliurd Northamptonshire, that 13 niiniMmet and established the Baptist sionary Society, which lias done me' to lighten the lot of India s - and children. Two of the menikpresent came from the KetienBaptist Church so they kindly paon some information about the !'• which was very interesting. After a season of prayer the fling closed.
