APPEAL FOR BLIND INSTITUTE
Sir, —Among the numerous present day appeals for financial assistance the one which is now being launched locally in support of the Institute for the Blind should meet with a ready response. There is no need to write of the wonderful work carried out by that institute in giving those so unfortunately handicapped the training which fits them to take their place in life.
The Tauranga "Women's Representative Committee recently received a request for the establishment of a local committee willing to assist in furthering the work. This committee is now functioning and in making the appeal for direct giving desires to point out that already men of the services have returned needing the much required assistance which the Institute alone can give. Organisations are being circularised and for the benefit of those who may not be attached to any of these and yet be desirous of assisting the good work, subscription lists are being opened at the Bay of Plenty Times Office and that of Mr Geo. Willcock, Wharf Street. An early response is solicited.—l am, etc. E. McNAUGHTON (Mrs R.) Hon. Sec. for Local Committee.
