PRISONERS IN CHAINS
Threat Put Into Effect
1376 Germans Involved
London, Oct. 11
It is anounced that 10 7 German officers and 1269 men in British hands have been placed in chains as a reprisal for the action of the Nazis in placing a similar number of those captured in the Dieppe raid in fetters. ,
It is stated that the rations of these prisoners have not been altered and that wounded, chaplains and members of medical units have not been included.
