TE PUNA NOTES
ANNUAL MEETING OF W.D.F.U. (From Our Correspondent) The anunal meeting of the Te Puna branch of the Women's Division of the Farmers' Union was held on Tuesday, April 14, at the hall. Mrs Meharry, secretary of the Tauranga. Provincial Executive, was present. The president reported that the main activity of the branch this year had been the raising of money for the forwarding of soldiers' parcels. The balance sheet showed a fair credit balance. The branch is unfortunate in losing three members who have left or are leaving the district. The election of officers resulted: President. Mrs I'Anson; secretary, Mrs King; treasurer, Mrs J. Armstrong; vice-presidents, Mrs J. Armstrong and Mrs Williams; delegates to Provincial Executives, Mesdames \Y. Armstrong, Taylor and King. The points prizes for the year were won by Mrs I'Anson. The monthly competition Avas won by Mrs Williams, Mrs Watkins beingsecond. Best bloom: Mrs J. Armstrong 1, Mrs Taylor 2. PERSONAL Trooper A. Gibson has been home on furlough. Driver K. I'Anson is home on leave.
