MEETING AT PAPAMOA
Th.e April meeting of the Papamo a "Women's Institute was held in the Papamoa Hall on Thursday, April 2. The president (Mrs Hammond) presided over a fair attendance. Business and correspondence was dealt with. A social competition—peeling: a potato blindfold —resulted in some eveningly-peeled potatoes, the prize for the best going to Miss Nancy Hammond. An interesting demonstration on massage was given by Mrs Hammond. Points competitions: A vase of flowers: Mrs A. Riddell 1, Mrs Bennett, sen., 2. Something new from old: Mrs A. Riddell 1, Mrs Pevreal .2 Singing brought the afternoon to a close. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Bennett, jun. and sen.
