BIG RAID ON BANGKOK
HUGE FIRES_ STARTED JAPANESE BASE IN THE CAROLINES ATTACKED EFFECTIVE WORK OF AEROPLANES London, Jan. S. The R.A.F. has made a big raid on Bangkok, capital of Thailand. The raid was very successful and huge fires were started. The Australian Air Force has taken offensive action against a Japanese base in the Caroline Islands, which was bombed. A message from Batavia states that seven enemy bombers made another attack on Amboin Island in the Molucca Group. Isolated air attacks have also been made at scattered points in the Netherlands East Indies.
