OBITUARY

MRS FLOREXCE L. CORRIGAN Cabled advice has been received ia Auckland of the accidental death of Mrs Florence Lucy Corrigan in Kenya Colony, Africa. Mrs Corrigan was the mother of Mr L. P. Leary. of Auckland and the widow of MiRichard of Palmerston North, where she lived for many years. She had a family of four sons, only one of whom is living. One of them. :-.± Ernest Richard Leary. was killed on the Somme in 1916. After her-mar-riage to Mr D. H. L. Corrigan. Mrs Corrigan lived for many years in Auckland and later at Tauranga. Her death occurred while she was visiting Mrs Lascelles Leary Verbi, her daughter by the second marriage. No details of how Mrs Corrigan met her .death have been received. She is survived by her husband, one son and one daughter. The tragic death of Mrs Corrigacame as a great shock to her many Tauranga friends. Since leaving Tauranga in February. 19 40. Mrs Corrigan has been in Kenya Colony with her daughter Mrs Lascelles Verbi. Recently she visited Nairobi and while there was engaged in canteen work among the troops. Mrs Corrigan took a keen interest in the work of the Church of England in Tauranga a talented musician she acted as church organist on many occasions. Mrs Corrigan was also very keen on horticulture and was an active member of the Tauranga Beautifying Society. The sincerest sympathy of her many friends is extended to Mr Corrigan and Mrs Verbi in their bereavement.
