As man uses timber in ever increasing quantities so does he remove (food for many wood-destro)ying pests. It is only natural that they will adapt themselves to the new conditions and to-day there are at least six insect and some 1100 fungoid pests which can be found under and in properties in New Zealand. All have different methods of attack and all need different kinds of treatment. What used to be rather a haphazard business proposition has now become a matter of science and expert knowledge, giving treatment that not only kills but immunises. In this field Timber Treatments has led the way and has won State approval for it.s methods of extermination and immunisation and Mann Hardware Co., Ltd., and C. F. Washer, Ltd., have now joined in the campaign for property preservation by taking the agencies for the Tauranga district.—P.B.A.
