MAY BE PERMITTED TO GO THROUGH RED SEA Washington, April 4 President Roosevelt indicated that he contemplated modification of the neutrality proclamation to permit American ships to carry cargoes, including war supplies, to the vicinity of the Suez via the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea. The President announced that 500,000.000 dollars’ worth of army and navy equipment had already been released to Britain and Greece under the Lease-or-L.end Act. He also revealed that plans were being drafted to aid Yugoslavia. The Secretary of State, Mr Cordell Hull, stated that frozen Yugoslav funds would be released in amounts sufficient to meet its needs.
