HOME GUARD
MEETING AT THE MOUNT
GOOD RESPONSE
On Tuesday, February IS, a party from Tauranga, comprising Capt. J. Mitchell, Local Commander, Mr M. Murphy, Adjutant, and the Battalion autl Room Sergeant, Mr R. Bamberry, attended a Home Guard organisation meeting at Mt. Maunganui. Capt. J. Mitchell, chairman of the Mount Maunganui Town Board, presided over an attendance of approximately forty. The function and duties of the Home Guard were explained by the Local Commander, after he had apologised for the unavoidable delay in respect to the Mount..
