ENJOYABLE OUTING

YACHT CLUB’S ANNTUt PICNIC SUCCESSFUL DAY AT OMOKORq* The Tauranga Yacht and P n . Altogether 27 boats of the club's licet —12 launches and 15 sailing boats —participated in the mainland they made a fine sight as they left the club house packed with people bent, on making the online ns as possible. During the day several races were sailed in a light north-easterly breeze and all the events attracted good fleets of starters. One of the most interesting events was the race for Idle Alongs from the leading beacon to Omokoroa for the Galatea Cup this being won by lona (G. Carter) from a fleet of seven starters. There was also an Idle Along class race for the Ward Cup and this was also won by lona which was sailed in this race by W. Sneddon. Another interesting event was a race for women skippers which was won by Miss L. Tudhope, sailing Cutty Sark, and there was also a race for Tauranga class boats. The results were: Galatea. Clip
