Jane Wyman, the firm actress, offers her grandmother’s favourite recipe for hand lotion ,which combines equal parts of glycerine and spirits of camphor to which is added the strained juice of one lemon. Dannielle Darrieux prefers a hand lotion with a rose glycerine base. Dorothy Labour, whose exquisite hands are a Hollywood tradition, advocates as a whitener a formula which any one of us might well consider for our beauty routine—a combination of hydrogen peroxide 85 per cent., toilet ammonia 10 per cent, and glycerine 5 per cent. Again, for use after a stimulating cold shower, comes from the ever-lovely Billie Burke, the recommendation of a rub with glycerine and rosewater for a skin softener. 1 . -
