Folk out here are feeling sorry for Jackie Coogan, who, since his split with Betty Grable, seems to have no luck at all.

When the Coogan lawsuits were at their height, the two of them were married. I wrote Jackie’s life story about that time, went to see the pair of them often at their very modest Westwood- home, and they certainly appeared in love —as, indeed, they were. Then came the separation and the divorce, Betty left Hollywood—Little Miss Nobody—went to Broadway, made a hit in “Dubarry Was a Lady,” returned to Hollywood a star. Now she is up, and “The Kid” is down. v But Betty is sticking up for him through the latest bother over his publicised effort to become a civilian instructor for the Canadian Air Force.
