RUGBY LEAGUE
MAXAKAU TO VISIT TAUR-ANGA COMBINED MAORI TEAM Tauranga Rugby enthusiasts will have the opportunity on Saturday of seeing the well-known Manukau Rugby League team in action. Arrangements heve now been completed for the Manukau Club to play a. combined Maori team on the Domain ground. The game is to be played under Rugby code rules.
This is an end of season game which it is customary for the officials! of the Manukau Club to arrange for their players. On this occasion the choice lay between Rotorua or Tauranga and the players themselves elected to visit Tauranga.
Among those who will show their paces are Chase, Broderick, P. Ririnui, Mataira and Hemi. This latter player is renowned for his great kicking, and notched his 10 Bth point of th© season when the Manukau ■Club met Mount Albert last, weekend.
There will be no charge for admission, but a collection will be taken on the ground, the amount collected being devoted to patriotic funds. -
