STAFF V. A TEAM

Although’, there have not yet been many opportunities for practice, a bright display of basketball was witnessed on Tuesday last, when, prior to the departure from Tauranga of an enthusiastic member outlie teacher’s team, a' match was played between the Staff and the High School A Team. The game which was evenly contested throughout, resulted in a win for the girls by 1G goals to 14. At the close of play, afternoon tea was served by the girls. LIFE-SAVING With the approach of cold weather swimming instruction which was given throughout the bathing season has ceased. During this period much time was spent in the teaching of life-saving, with the result that many certificates have been gained by pupils of the Tauranga District High School, the results being as follows: —
