GRANDMOTHER DRIVES ROCHESTER TAXICAB
New York. Mrs. Alice F, Hale, of Rochester, a grandmother and mother of 10 children, is driving a taxicab eight hours , a day, replacing her husband, who obtained another job.The family budget requires the income from the taxicab, she explained, because, four of the 10 children are still in school.'' “I’ve been a licensed driver seven years and never had an accident,” Mrs. Hale said, “i don’t see why a woman can’t do this work as well as a man, if she can take it —and I think I can.”
