TAURANGA Y. ‘GRAMMAR OLD BOYS MATCH ON SATURDAY NEXT The Grammar Old Boys senior fifteen, which will meet the Tauranga representatives on Saturday next, includes a number of the leading players in Auckland. They concentrate on back - play and if the weather conditions are favourable the match should provide spectacular football. The home team, as the result of five Te Hurinui Apanui Shield matches, have acquired combination which should stand theqi in good stead against the city exponents.
The Tauranga team has been altered. again as a result of a wire received by the Rugby Union yesterday morning advising that H. Rayment had been selected as full hack for the North Island Minor Unions team, instead of Wi Repa. The Tauranga team has now been fixed as:
Full back, S. Gardiner; threequarters, F. Voice, Joe Faulkner, B. Bidois; five, eighths, J. Bidois, A. Bullock-Dougias; half hack, J. Kuka; forwards, R. Rolleston, PJo Ririnui, S. Wright, G. Tuwhakaraina, P. Murray, W. Clay, M. Bell, T. Kakau. Emergencies, backs, S. Short, M. Murray, M. Tangitu; forwards, G. Ormsby, J. Scandle. H. Payment and J. McNeile Avill leave this afternoon for Christchurch and Avill play in the North Island Minor Union's team against the South Island Minor Unions on Saturday. Best, of Whakatane, will also play in the former team. At the lasj: of the Te Puke Rugby Sub-Union, Mr. A. Spratt said the centennial match to be staged on August 19 at'Maketu in aid of the Maketu centennial funds, would be played between Maori and Pakeha teams.
