QUEEN CARNIVAL

CORONATION CEREMONY Booking arrangements for the Coronation ceremony to take place in the Town Hall to-morrow night, are advertised to-day. ' The ceremony is to take place at 7.30 and special scenery is being erected Mr W. Lints is the Director, assisted by Mr Ivan Faulkner, and Mrs Meikle has charge of the robing. Special combination tickets for the ceremony and the dance to follow are obtainable. MEETING.. OF' EXECUTIVE A meeting of the Executive Committee of the Queen Carnival was held in the Borough Council Chambers on Monday night. Mr L. R. Wilkinson presided. There were also present Mrs A. Faulkner, MissE. Steele (Queen elect), Miss Davidson, Messrs J. Y, Cameron, R. Polley, G. G. Norris, E. J. Browning, A. C. Isherwood, Mr Lints, organiser, and Mr R. B. Shearman, secretai’y.

An apology was received from the Rev. Father Eccleston for unavoidable absence.

The question of charges for admission to the coronation ceremony and ball was further considered and finally decided. Mr Lints reported that arrangements for the Coronation were progressing satisfactorily, and outlined the proceedings. 'Mrs Faulkner said Mrs Meikle had the robing for the Queen well in hand.
