Trinity College Success. At the practical music examination conducted by Dr. Ford, of Trinity College of Music, London, at Waihi recently, Margaret Strawbridge, student of Mrs W. Henderson, of Katikati, was successful in passing the Preparatory grade.
Motion of Sympathy. Before the Chamber of Commerce proceeded to the consideration of business at last night’s meeting, the President, GroUp-Captain F. E. Hewlett, referred to the deaths of Captain P. E. Harne and Mr A. Tudhope, and moved: That the Chamber of Commerce record its sympathy with the relatives of the deceased in their bereavement. The motion was passed, all present standing in, silence..
Further Pall of Rain. There was further heavy rain during. the early hours of this morning, the registration by the Gamp gauge for twenty-four hours ended 9 a.m. being 11 points.
Robbery on the Strand. The business premises of.Mr H. J. G. Allen, next the Masonic Hotel, were broken into on Monday night. The till was rifled by the thieves and a sum of money was stolen.
