ORPHANS’ CLUB
FORTNIGHTLY SESSION The Tauranga Orphans’ Club held the fortnightly session in the Rivoli on Saturday night, when an Irish Night was held. There was a good attendance of members and VicePresident Bro. H. G. Allen presided. The Chairman warmly welcomed the representatives of the Rotorua Orphans’ Club who were the official Visitors and installed Bro. C. P. Allen as Chairman for the evening. Each member on arrival was presented with an Irish hat, decked with a shamrock cut out of green paper, a similar shamrock being pinned in the lapel of the coat. The walls of the hall were draped in green—green streamers across the ceiling and an abundance of cut-outs of green shamrocks—each with the name of aii Irish County printed across the centre, also Irish flags and .shields, these latter being Aindly loaned by the Irish Committee of the Te Aroha Orphans’ Club. The gathering was voted the bigS.eat and most enjoyable evening so far this season. A car load in charge of Bro. Jack D bullivan. President of the Te Arona was also present.
