HORSES MIXED UP

MISTAKE IX TK l( 'KIM. An accidental racing ring-in was hurriedly rung-off when the owner of a winning mare found a maiden two-year-old filly in its place (says a message from Perth). The mix-up occurred when two racehorses were sent by train from Belmont to two widely-separated country centres. Dollator, an outstanding winner in Western Australia this season, was trucked to be sent to her owner, Mr W. J. Marwick, of York. On the same train was Miss Solomon, a maiden two-year-old filly consigned to Toodyay. When Miss Solomon’s new owner at Toodyay went to untruck the filly he found a likely-looking brown mare and was pleased with his purchase. When Mr Marwick entered the truck at York and found a chestnut filly, instead of Dollator, however, he lost no time in convincing the railway officials of the mistake.
