FOOD HARD TO GET
ANGRY SCENES IN BERLIN London, April 21 Rocketing prices and the acute shortage of foodstuffs in Berlin are daily causing angry, scenes, the correspondent of the Daily Telegratph reports. In the public markets violent disputes occur between wholesalers and retailers, also between retailers and housewives. The last are constantly told that the goods they need are unavailable. Recently, seven women, were arrested because they loudly complained of food conditions, declaring that German flour had been sent to Spain. The disputes are generally due to the shortage of meat and fats, also because; the wholesalers who sell fruit to retailers insist that the latter also' buy large quantities of vegetables which they da not want, despite the fact, that this practice is illegal.
