CALIFORNIAN QUAIL
STOCKS FOR DOMINION Subject to the approval of the Australian and New Zealand Governments the Auckland Acclimatisation Society hopes to introduce fres i stocks of Californian quail to the Auckland district. A plan with this end in view was approved at a meeting of the council of the society held at Whitianga. The President, Mi. E F. McKenzie, said that no new blood had been introduced in the district for many years. The birds were plentiful at Norfolk Island, where it was hoped to obtain them for about one shilling each.
