“FREE” TRICE AT SHANNON Referring to the Shannon hobby calf pool gazetted to operate from July 21, a farmer just outside the border gave his opinion of pools in no uncertain fashion. “As a ‘free' man I am getting 7s for my calves and those poor misguided people in that pool are getting As lOd. They say that is an advance, but I bet they never get a bonus to make up their loss. Give me competition every time: monopolies are no good.” These were the remarks of a onetime FAV.D. and 'railway worker who is now sharemilking.
