FOOTBALL (From Our Correspondent; Saturday’s games resulted in victories for United and Paengaroa in the seniors, and Old Boys and Rangiuru in the juniors. The competition points at the conclusion of the second round are as follows: Seniors. —• Paengaroa 11 points, Papaiuca 7, United 4, Maketu 2. With a possibility of only one further round of three games, Paengaroa are almost assured of the cham-

pionship. Juniors.- —Raugiuru 12 points. Old Boys S, Paengaroa 4, Papamoa 0. Raugiuru have not been defeated this season. On Saturday in the Papamoa-. United match, the teams were represented as follows: Papamoa (yellow and blue). —J. Bennett, Kgaki, Morgan, Graham., Kelly, Hickey, W. Poteue (backs),. W. Clark, Lonuard, O’Reilly, Rehu,. O'Reilly, Davies, Satherly. United (black and white). —Tumai, Lilias, Wilson, Rang!, Oxenham,. Mann, Poteue (hacks), Gordon. G. Webber, P. Webber, Nicholson, Kissling. Maaka, Herring, Kimberly. Throughout the first spell United, had a territorial advantage. Poteue, Mann, Oxenham and Wilson handled frequently. United penetrated as far as the Papamoa goalline. where Wilson picked up and scored. The same player brought about United’s second try. He snapped up the ball when a Papamoa movement broke down in United’s twenty-five and when opposed, transferred to P. Webber who scored after a long run. Both attempts to convert wore failures. Gordon and Kimberly, who were tireless forwards throughout, together with Mann, swept upfleld in a dribbling rush to the Papamoa line..
